Lash Maintenance - How to Maintain Lashes

You now have beautiful Lashes.......let's explain how to maintain them so you get the best lasting from them.

When Lashes are applied (it can be any style ) you should be given a lash aftercare sheet explaining the very best way to look after them. Your lash artist as a professional should provide their recommendations. That being said many sadly don't so that's why we are here to help you with how to maintain your lashes.

Before you leave your lash salon your Lash Artist should always rinse your lash set to ensure any vapors of glue are rinsed away. Your lashes will then be dried and fluffed up just before you open your eyes so you can see the beautiful result.

At home we highly recommend using our Exotique Lash Foam every day or every second day. This will ensure that all skin debris and body oils are removed. By removing these things the lash glue will last longer and your lashes especially if you are wearing Volume will stay fluffy and beautiful.

If you have been crying do make sure that you wash and dry your lashes well as tears are not your lashes friend and can cause the lashes to clump together as the tears crystalize. Once you have washed your lashes with lash foam make sure you rinse well and then pat dry. Be sure not to drag the wash cloth or towel across your lashes as this can stress the natural lashes. With your wash cloth use a sponging motion and with the towel use a blotting motion.

Once your lashes are dry you can use your mascara wand (spoolie) to fluff up the lashes. You can also use a little fan or your hair dryer on cool to do this. At Exotique Lashes we highly recommend that clean lashes last longer so make sure you are cleaning your lashes daily. If you wear a lot of makeup this does need to be removed first using our Exotique Gentle Eye Makeup Remover.

Lash foam does not remove makeup only the body oils, tears and debris from amongst the lashes. So use your makeup remover first, then use your Lash foam.

If you love your lashes and wish to keep your set in optimal condition we highly recommend all of the above for the best way to maintain your lashes.

So what about refills? Your lashes realistically should only need a refill at the 2-3 week mark when lashes are applied correctly. This can vary slightly depending on your natural lash growth cycle. If you have a fast cycle the 2 week mark is ideal. If you have a steady cycle the 3 week mark is perfect allowing for new lashes to grow in and for us to remove your grown out ones and replace them to restore your set to the fresh full set look.

So keep your lashes clean to maintain them well and book regular refills to ensure lashes look amazing all the time.
