Understanding Lash Length: Essential Safety Tips Every Lash Artist/Client Should Know
The Importance of Lash Length in Safety
Lash extensions have transformed the beauty industry, offering a fantastic way to achieve stunning lashes without the daily inconvenience of applying mascara resulting in panda eyes or using curlers.
Extensions are available in various lengths, diameters and curls which allows Lash Artists to style a lash set according to the clients natural lashes.
As a Lash Artist, we take into consideration the length and health of your natural lashes before we apply any sort of extensions. If we apply extensions that are too heavy for your natural lashes, it can result in premature shedding and damage to your lash follicle which can cause your lashes to never grow back. This can happen after only 8 times of the hair follicle being over weighted and damaged.
To ensure safety in Lash Extensions we like to attach an extension that is the same length as your natural lash. In some cases, we can apply an extension 1 - 2 mm longer than the natural lash, however that depends on the health of the clients lashes.
We find that the majority of the time you can achieve what a client is looking for if you take into consideration the different styles of lashes, the different curls and the lengths that you put on the client.
If a client feels pain, discomfort or itchyness this can mean that extensions have been applied incorrectly or left too long between refills or a removal. Poor application can result in over extended lashes and stickies and this is why we always recommend going to a qualified and well trained Lash Artist.
Redness around your eye could mean youve had an allergic reaction to the glue and you may not be a suitable for Lash Extensions.
