The Dangers Of Lash Extensions
This image above (Not our Work) is an example of unskilled and dangerous lash application, these lashes are very clumpy and stuck together this is what makes them unhealthy for your natural lashes. When getting lash extensions you want to make sure you are going somewhere that is highly qualified so you get the best possible outcome.
Reasons why these lash extensions are dangerous:
- Extensions are glued together
- There is infection at the lash line, due to the bad application
- Lashes are not isolated (multiple natural lashes glued to the same extension)
- The extensions are way too over extended in length for the natural lashes
- Extensions are too heavy for natural lashes
- The glue and extensions are touching the skin
- These will become painful to wear as the natural lashes try to grow forward
Lash technicians that put work out like this is what makes people scared of getting extensions because they have either had a bad experience in the past or have heard horror stories from someone else.
This is an example of how lash extensions should be applied, an extension should only be applied to one natural lash. This takes great skill as shown here in this picture. Using very fine sharp tweezers in both hands is a skill that is developed over time to achieve the best result.
How do you know you are going to a qualified lash artist?
- You need to know that they actually hold certificates from multiple classes
- Read reviews on google
- Stalk them on Instagram and study their work that has been posted
- Do they foam wash at the beginning and water rinse on completion of a set?
- You should not feel any pain during the application or after
- A detailed consultation and a form completed before any application is very important.
- Are they insured?
- Are they council approved?
If you look into all the things we have listed you should be able to have a pleasant experience and a great outcome for a beautiful set of lashes.
